Raya hosted the first underwater rover challenge held in India - and fielded a team that started knowing almost nothing about underwater engineering, and finished as designers, engineers, and problem-solvers.

India's First Underwater ROV Challenge, Hosted at Raya
MATE ROV had never run in India before. Raya hosted the two-day event - and put up a team that began with almost no underwater engineering knowledge at all.
What they had instead was weeks of trial and error: designing housings, planning a budget, debugging, failing, trying again. By the end they were engineers, designers, financial planners and problem-solvers, mostly because the project refused to let them be anything less.
Along the way they ran into the part nobody assigned - marine conservation, and why it isn't a subject so much as a responsibility. The robot was the excuse. The thinking was the point.
