The School at Raya
A school should be the most interesting place a child has ever been.

We started because we couldn't find a school we believed in. Not one that took arts as seriously as algebra. Not one that trusted a fourteen-year-old to argue with an adult, and asked her to do it well. Not one where the architecture made the case for how learning should feel. So we built it.
The hands behind Raya.

"Real education isn't only about knowledge and skills. It's about discovering what you care about, the values you'll live by, and a purpose that serves more than yourself."
A zoologist by training, Dr. Somasekhar spent years at USC, Illinois, and Ohio State before turning to schools - and 25 years building the Indian Academy Group, on one stubborn belief: that the preparation for life begins at school, not after it.

"Every idea, every space, every opportunity is an adventure you can disappear into. Find that flow once, and you'll chase it in everything after."
A doctor with an MBA from ISB who grew up between the United States and India, Suneel found his own flow rock climbing - and designed Raya around the values it taught him: freedom, individuality, and the pursuit of mastery.

"Every child carries a different universe within them. Real learning happens when they're given the space to understand who they are becoming."
Sailaja is a hands-on educational leader guided by her mantra, "Never Give Up" - patience, perseverance, purpose. For her, the most meaning in education lies in the relationships she builds with learners and educators.

"When learning helps young people think deeply, care fiercely, and recognise themselves in what they do, it becomes fuel for a life that genuinely feels their own."
Anthony is a reflective learning leader who believes in building trust and strong relationships. His work centres on growing confident teams and learning experiences that connect what young people know, what they can do, and what they care about.

"Young people are natural thinkers. They thrive on a good challenge and the space to figure it out. True learning runs on a little chaos and a whole lot of curiosity."
Rachana leads with a simple bet: that young people, handed genuine agency, will surprise everyone - including themselves. Her instinct is to give them room rather than rules.

"Every learner has unique strengths to offer the world - the future belongs to those who can think critically, adapt confidently and apply meaningfully."
Ruchira Banka is an educator, curriculum leader, and published author whose philosophy - "Create the Creator", holds that any learner can become one. For her, an education should shape not just what a student knows, but who they become.

"Playing different sports opens doors to new opportunities, improves performance, and builds character through sportsmanship - and that's what matters most"
Syam is an educator whose goal is for every student to feel seen, heard, and acknowledged on the sports field - and to find the joy of being active every single day.
